Data deletion
The report and your site data can be deleted at any time. Klarense keeps only the type of problem, without the site name.
Below are all the ways to delete, and an honest list of what remains.
1. If you received an email with a link to the report
The email “Your link to save the report” has a deletion link. Follow it and confirm: the report and the files of its run are removed from working storage right away.
2. If you signed in to “My reports”
In “My reports” you can:
- delete a single run of a check of a specific website;
- delete a website entirely, with all its reports.
Both actions are confirmed in a separate window so that you do not delete by accident. The report screen has no separate delete button, only the account or the link from the email.
3. If you saved nothing
A report that you did not save by email exists for 24 hours from the moment the check finished and is then deleted automatically, the same way as with manual deletion. After it expires, the link to such a report will show that it no longer exists.
4. What is deleted technically
The report address, the files of the run (screenshots, service files), and the processed data of the website check in the service knowledge base, if no other live checks remain for that website.
5. What is not deleted, and why
Plainly, with nothing left unsaid:
- Encrypted backups. The service makes an encrypted copy of the data every hour. A deleted report may remain in such copies for up to 35 days, after which the copies are deleted automatically. If the service is restored from a copy, the deletions made after it are applied again, so a deleted report will not come back.
- Statistics with no link to a website or an account. What remains is the internal id of the check, the type of problem found, the result and the time of the event, without the website address, the domain, the page content, screenshots or a link to an account. This is needed to understand which problems are most common among the service's users as a whole.
- The deletion log. Service numbers of deleted reports, inquiries and accounts with a date, with no website addresses, emails or texts. It is needed so that what was deleted does not come back after a restore from a backup. It is kept for 24 months, then cleared.
- Your feedback and requests to a specialist, if you left any. They are stored separately so that the service operator can handle them even if the report itself has already been deleted.
Feedback, requests to a specialist and messages through "Contact us" are kept while we handle the inquiry and for up to 12 months after it is closed. At your request to hello@klarense.com we will delete them sooner, within 30 days, with a confirmation to your email.
More about this data is in the Privacy policy (Russian), section 6.
6. If you want to delete your account
Write to hello@klarense.com from the address the account is registered to: we will delete the account and the saved reports within 30 days and confirm to that email. If you do not use Klarense for 24 months, we will write to you 30 days before the deletion.
7. If you own the domain but did not start the check
Write to hello@klarense.com, give the website address and confirm that you are its owner.
To confirm ownership, one of two things is enough: reply to us from an address on the same domain (for example, admin@your-domain), or add a temporary TXT record to the domain's DNS with the code we send you. After confirmation we will delete the reports for that domain.
8. Cookies and analytics
Deleting a report does not affect the cookie consent of the Klarense site itself, which is a separate setting. You can withdraw consent to analytics on the Cookies (Russian) page.
9. Still have questions
