Privacy policy
Klarense checks the public pages of a website and shows a report. Below is the data this needs and what happens to it.
1. Who is responsible for the data
The service is run by Serghei Fortuna. For questions about data: hello@klarense.com.
2. The main rule
A report and the data of a website can be deleted at any time. Klarense keeps only the type of problem, without the website name. More on the Data deletion page.
3. What data we process
A check without registration
- The website address and the content of its public pages (text, links, metadata, a screenshot of the home page), to show the report.
- Technical data about the run (status, errors, counters), so that the service works and is protected from abuse.
- IP address and browser data, for security and rate limiting (including on the hosting side). For rate limiting we store not the address itself but its hash, for 30 days.
An email is not needed to view a report.
Saving a report and the “My reports” cabinet
- Email: the link for saving, signing in and linking your checks.
- The session cookie (
klarense_sid), to recognize you after you sign in (up to 30 days). - Sign-in with Google: the same email as when signing in by the link from an email (if Google has confirmed the address).
No more than five sign-in emails per hour to one address (protection from abuse).
If you write to us yourself
- The text of feedback on a report, for the operator to review.
- An email and a message in a request to a specialist, so that we can reply to you.
- An email and a message through “Contact us”, only so that we can reply to you.
This is personal data. It is not treated as anonymized statistics and is not deleted automatically together with the report (see section 6).
Klarense statistics (not of the website you check)
To count visits we use our own anonymized statistics without cookies. We do not store IP addresses and we cannot identify a specific visitor: we only see aggregate figures — how often pages were opened, where people came from (referring site), device type and country. Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept the cookie banner.
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only after “Accept” in the cookie banner. The address of the website you check is not sent to analytics. Details: Cookies.
4. Why we do this
- To run the check and show the report.
- To save the report and give you access to it later, if you left an email.
- To reply to feedback or to a request to a specialist, if you asked for it yourself.
- To see which types of problems occur more often, with no link to a website or an account (section 6).
- To protect the service from abuse.
5. Retention periods
| What | Period |
|---|---|
| A report not saved by email | 24 hours after the check finishes, then deletion |
| The public link to an unsaved report | The same 24 hours |
| A saved report | Until you delete it yourself |
| Account and email | Until you delete the account. If you have not used Klarense for 24 months, we will write to this email 30 days before the deletion; then the account and the saved reports are deleted |
| The link from an email (sign-in / saving) | 30 minutes, single use. The record of it is deleted 7 days after it is used or expires |
| A session in the cabinet | Up to 30 days. On sign-out the session record is deleted at once; expired records 7 days after they expire |
| The hash of an IP address for rate limiting | 30 days |
| The link for deleting a report and the link to the PDF (from an email) | The deletion link is single use; the PDF link works as long as the report is alive. The record of a link is deleted 7 days after it is used or after the report is deleted |
| The deletion log (service numbers of deleted records and a date, with no website addresses, emails or texts) | 24 months, then cleared |
| The record of an AI request (the check number, the model and the cost, with no website address or contact details) | 90 days, then deleted |
| The record of your cookie choice | About 6 months |
| Encrypted backups | Up to 35 days, then deleted automatically |
| Statistics with no link to a website or an account | Not deleted together with the report (section 6) |
| Feedback, requests to a specialist and messages through “Contact us” | While we handle the inquiry and for up to 12 months after it is closed. At your request to hello@klarense.com we will delete them sooner |
6. What remains after a report is deleted
When you delete a report, or 24 hours pass without saving, we remove the public access, the website address, the evidence and the files of that run. The record of the run loses the website address, the website data, the error text and the link to your account. For product statistics the internal run number, the type of problem, the result of the check and the time of the event remain, with no URL, no website name and no link to an account.
To track costs, we keep a technical record of each AI request for 90 days: the check number, the model and the cost. It contains no site address or contact details.
While a report is “alive”, the service operator can see the address of the check. After deletion or expiry that link is removed.
While an inquiry (feedback, a request to a specialist, a message through “Contact us”) is not deleted, it may refer to the run number. Inquiries are stored separately from reports: deleting a report does not delete them automatically. We close an inquiry by hand, 14 days after our reply if you have not answered, or after 3 months without activity. A closed inquiry is deleted after 12 months. At your request to hello@klarense.com we will delete inquiries sooner, within 30 days, with a confirmation to your email. How to delete them and a report is on the Data deletion page. After an inquiry is deleted, no link to the run number remains.
The record of a link from an email (it holds your email and, for saving a report, the run number) is deleted 7 days after the link is used or expires.
A deleted report disappears from working storage and file storage at once. In encrypted backups it may remain for up to 35 days, until those copies are deleted on schedule. If the service is ever restored from such a copy, all deletions made after it are applied again: a deleted report will not come back.
7. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. Contractors perform tasks:
- the email service Resend: emails with links;
- Google Analytics 4: Klarense statistics, only after consent to cookies;
- Google: sign-in with a Google account, if you chose it;
- Hetzner: the server where the site, the database and the storage of reports, screenshots and check files run;
- Backblaze B2: storage of encrypted backups (up to 35 days).
Data may be processed outside your country (including in the USA, at Google). For analytics see also Cookies.
8. Security
We use HTTPS, limit access to data and apply reasonable technical measures. No method of transmission or storage on the internet gives an absolute guarantee.
9. Your rights
You can:
- find out what data we hold for your email or check: write to hello@klarense.com;
- delete a report: the ways are on Data deletion;
- withdraw consent to analytics, through the banner on Cookies;
- complain to a data protection authority in your country if you believe your rights are violated.
10. Children
Klarense is not intended for children. If you believe a child’s data has reached us, write to hello@klarense.com: we will delete it.
11. Changes
For material changes we will update this page and the date at the top of the document.
12. Contacts
